Company History
MergerMakers was founded by John W. Ratliff who has operated a variety of different operations within the insurance industry. Upon graduating from the University of North Texas Mr. Ratliff moved to London England where he began his career with Nelson Hurst and Marsh as a Lloyds of London Broker. He returned from London England and went to work with The Rigg Group which owned and operated the 2nd largest privately held insurance agency in Texas.
Under Rigg Group CEO, Cecil Ray ,he grew his knowledge and experience of merger and acquisition as well as sound business principles which eventually led to the founding of Reata Holdings, Inc . Mr. Ratliff serves as CEO. Reata owns and operates Cypress Premium Funding, Inc., Ironwood Surplus, Inc, Sugar Tree Technologies as well as Merger Makers.
